Actually part of our F.I.E. correspondence novel between a time traveller and a person staying in the year 2000, this assignment imagined that the traveller arrived in a decade of the 20th century in a time machine. His/her job was to report back on three elements of a famous event, thus the letter should take the form of a research essay, though the language should remain casual and include elements of empathy (studied in our Second Step anti-violence program), along with an impression of both the journey through time and the first arrival in that strange decade of the past.
